Removed and missing object

Removed and missing object analytics stores a reference image of the moment the protected object is in place. ProVife compares this image with the live image and creates an event when the object’s texture and edges disappear permanently. A change in color or light alone is not enough; the details belonging to the object must actually be gone. With this method, a person walking in front of it produces no event, while the removal of a painting, a screen, a fire extinguisher or a display item is noticed immediately. It is suited to museums, store window displays, server rooms and equipment storerooms.

How it works

  1. While the object is in place, grab the image with Capture frame and draw the area around the object.

  2. When you save the scenario, ProVife stores the reference image showing the object.

  3. Set the changed area ratio and the dwell time.

  4. If the object’s texture and edges disappear permanently relative to the reference, it counts as a change.

  5. If the change persists for the dwell time, an event is created and reported with an image marking the zone.

What it produces

  • Missing object event (analytics.object.removed): change ratio, duration and zone name.
  • Event image with the object’s zone marked.
  • How long the object has been missing.
  • In playback, going back from the moment of the event lets you find the person who took the object.

What you can do with the event

  • A critical pop-up window and audible alert.
  • Running the siren and strobe via a smart relay.
  • Sending the event image to the person in charge via WhatsApp.
  • Forwarding the event by email and MQTT to the alarm center.

Where it is used

Museums

Works taken down from the wall and objects removed from display cases in exhibition halls are reported.

Retail

Removal of high-value products from the display window is reported to store security.

Information technology

Devices removed from racks in the server room after hours are logged.

Building management

The technical team is alerted when the fire extinguisher or first aid cabinet in the corridor is removed.

Camera placement

  • Position the camera at an angle that sees the object directly and continuously, without people passing in front blocking it.
  • Draw the area tightly, covering a little beyond the object.
  • Choose a distance that shows the object at a recognizable size.
  • Refresh the reference once in areas with stable light, and regularly in areas where light varies.
