Count visitors, measure conversion

Store analytics

ProVife Store Analytics counts visitors entering and leaving through the door, calculates the conversion rate from checkout transactions, shows the most-used areas of the store with a heat map and sends the report every evening.

Store analytics

In retail, decisions start with visitor counts. ProVife Store Analytics is a dedicated menu, independent of AI scenarios. One or more entrances are defined for each store; for each entrance, a counting line and an optional counting area are drawn on the image. Visitors in, out and inside are monitored live; when a checkout camera is added, shoppers are separated from those who leave without buying. With a front-facing face camera, staff and repeat entries by the same person within a short time are excluded from the count. An overview camera shows the entire store live on the map, and the heat map reveals where visitors linger most. Reports are available as PDF and Excel.

Real conversion rate

Visitors and checkout transactions are compared in the same system; the conversion rate is measured, not estimated.

Clean data

Because staff and repeat entries are filtered out, the numbers reflect real customer traffic.

Optimize your store layout

The heat map shows which areas draw interest and which stay empty.

The report comes to you

Every evening, the regional manager finds the day’s report in WhatsApp and email.

Accurate counting at the door

For each entrance, you select a camera, a multi-point counting line and the entry direction. The door type is set to entrance and exit, entrance only or exit only. With ceiling-mounted overhead cameras, counting tracks motion; with front-facing cameras, it is based on the person’s position. The daily reset time is set to match the store’s opening hours, so the day starts at the right point even for stores that close late at night.

  • Multi-point counting line and optional counting area
  • Entrance and exit, entrance only and exit only door types
  • Overhead or front-facing camera view
  • Store-specific daily reset time
  • Multiple doors per store

Conversion rate

When a checkout camera and checkout line are defined, visitors passing the checkout are counted as shoppers. ProVife compares this with the number of visitors who entered to calculate the conversion rate and the number who left without buying. This rate is the most direct indicator of whether changes to window displays, campaigns or staffing actually translate into sales. The rate is shown live on screen and daily and hourly in reports, making it clear at which hours visitors are not converting into buyers.

  • Checkout camera and checkout line
  • Shopper and left-without-buying counts
  • Live conversion rate
  • Hourly and daily comparison

Filtering out staff and repeat entries

Visitor counts get inflated when staff walk through the door dozens of times a day. When a front-facing face camera is defined, people marked as staff in the face gallery are excluded from the count. When the repeat entry option is on, a second entry by the same person within the set number of minutes is not counted. Customer face data is held in memory only for this period; the server stores only the decision not to count.

  • Staff selection from the face gallery
  • Not counting repeat entries within a set time
  • Excluded staff and repeat entry counts on screen
  • Customer face data is never stored permanently

Live store screen and overview

On the store screen, all cameras are live in a grid, and each image shows its counting line and area. The live store map shows doors, in and out counts, people inside and the number of purchases at checkout. When an overview camera that sees the entire store is selected, the map is built on top of that image, with doors and checkout placed on it. A store plan image can also be used instead of a camera.

  • All store cameras in a live grid
  • Live map with doors, checkout and people inside
  • Door placement on the overview camera
  • Alternative map with a plan image

Heat map

When the heat map is enabled on the overview camera, the server reads how often people appear in the image once a minute and stores it hourly. The “Heat map” button on the store screen shows today’s density over the live video. Reports include the heat map for the selected dates as a separate page, with red marking the busiest areas. This measures which aisles draw interest and which stay empty.

  • Today’s heat map over live video
  • Density data stored hourly
  • Heat map page in the PDF report
  • Grid values in the Excel report

Reports and automatic daily delivery

Reports are prepared for today, yesterday, the last 7 days, this month, last month or two selected dates. The PDF report includes summary boxes, in and out charts, hourly traffic, a per-door table and days of the week; the Excel report presents the same data on separate sheets. When the automatic daily report is on, a summary and chart are sent to the WhatsApp group and PDF and Excel attachments to email at the set time.

  • PDF and Excel (.xlsx) reports
  • Busiest hour, busiest day, peak inside
  • Daily report every evening via WhatsApp and email
  • Heat map added to the report automatically for stores with it enabled
  • No images of people in reports, only counts

Frequently asked questions

Does Store Analytics require a special counting camera?

No. An IP camera that sees the door from above or from the front is enough. The camera view is selected in the settings, and the counting line is drawn on the image where people actually cross.

How are staff excluded from counts?

A face camera that sees the entrance from the front is defined, and staff are selected from the face gallery. When these people pass through the door, the related entry is excluded from the count and shown separately on screen.

Does the heat map show the number of people?

No. The heat map shows how often people appear in the image, revealing how much each area is used. Visitor counts come from door counting.

Can I manage multiple stores in the same system?

Yes. Each store is defined separately with its own doors, checkout, reset time and report settings. Users see only the stores whose cameras they have event permission for.

See the Store Analytics module with your own cameras.
