Retail and chain stores

How many people came in, how many bought, and which parts of the store stayed empty? ProVife measures the answers for every store and reports them every evening.

Retail and chain stores

In retail, profit margins depend on turning visitors into customers. ProVife takes the store’s existing IP cameras beyond security recording: door cameras count visitors, the checkout camera calculates the conversion rate, and the overview camera measures interest in each aisle with a heat map. Because staff and repeat entries are excluded from counts, the data is clean. The team is notified the moment a queue grows or a shelf runs empty, and abandoned or missing products come in as alerts. Branches are defined as separate stores, each with its own reset time and report settings. Small stores typically use ProVife Box with the software preinstalled, while regional warehouses and head offices use ProVife Server.

Common challenges

Visitor data is missing or unreliable

Door counters also count staff and repeat visitors; the store manager does not know the real traffic.

Conversion cannot be measured

With checkout data and visitor data in separate systems, the conversion rate is a guess.

Store layout is based on intuition

Which aisles draw interest and which stay empty is not backed by visual data.

Reporting is done by hand

Branch reports wait to be compiled and sent every evening; the regional manager gets the data late.

What you can do with ProVife

Visitor counting

Visitors in, out and inside are monitored live with multi-point lines on door cameras.

Conversion rate

People crossing the checkout line are compared with the number who entered; those who leave without buying are shown separately.

Clean counts

Staff in the face gallery and visitors who re-enter within a set time are excluded from the count.

Heat map

The overview camera records the busiest and emptiest areas of the store every hour.

Operational alerts

The team is notified when a queue grows, a shelf runs empty, or an object is left behind or goes missing.

Automatic daily report

Every evening at the set time, a summary and chart go to the WhatsApp group, and PDF and Excel reports go to email.

A day with ProVife

  1. The store opens, and the daily count restarts at the reset time. Thanks to the face camera, staff arriving in the morning are not added to the visitor count.

  2. During the lunch rush, the checkout queue grows; queue analytics send an image notification to the store team’s WhatsApp group, and a second checkout opens.

  3. The shelf in the promotion aisle runs empty. With the empty shelf detection alert, the stockroom lead restocks the product.

  4. The regional manager opens the Store Analytics screen from head office and compares visitors in, inside and conversion rates across branches.

  5. The store closes. The heat map shows that visitors cluster in front of the window display, while the back aisle stays empty.

  6. The daily report, with the heat map, arrives in the WhatsApp group and by email; the next day’s layout decision is made with data.
